5 ways to improving your body image


Improving your body image is as simple as changing your mind about how you look. As we know, this is much easier said than done. But that doesn’t mean it's impossible to shift your feelings about your appearance. To start, it may help to realize that virtually everybody has hang-ups about some aspect of their bodies. Even the most successful & seemingly confident people privately fret about at least one of their physical attributes, including the women who model for magazine ads.
Remember there are certain things about yourself that you cannot change, such as your height.
*One way to help with your image is to NOT compare yourself to others.
*Also associate with others who DON'T have a habit w/ putting themselves down.
*Remind yourself that your value reaches far beyond your physical appearance.
*Think about the things for which you are grateful, from the love of your family to the warmth of the sun on a nice day.
*Set positive (yet realistic) goals, such as losing one pound per week vs setting a goal of losing 10 pounds (it sounds like a lot more & may be discouraging).
